Summer Projects

At the begining of this summer, I made a list of things I wanted to make, and amazingly, I was able to get most them finished!

Spray painted mason jars

I made these Father's Day cards on Tiny Prints for Tim and my dad.

I've seen a lot of menu boards online where they plan out what the family will eat for the whole week (or month) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  I love planning things out, but when it come to eating, there is no way I would be able to know on Sunday what I was going to feel like eating the next Friday.  So I made a simple menu board.  After we go shopping, I write down the different meals we are able to make using the things we bought.  Then I cross it off after it has been made.  If there are no leftovers, then that item gets erased completly.  This way I can see what leftovers we have without having to open the fridge.  (This is great because once the fridge is open, Jake thinks that means he needs to try to crawl in, or rearrange everything inside! EVERYTIME!)

I finally made Avery's light switch cover.

And the next few things are for school.
I sprayed the mirror that will go over my sink a lovely turquoise.

My Author's Chair is now also turquoise.

I sewed new curtains for the window...

...and a new plastic bag holder.
A fun banner!

I also made Avery two new tank tops.  (Well, I added decorations. I didn't actually sew the shirt!)

Sea World and Summer Fun

I can't believe how fast this summer has gone by!!  So here are some "catch-up" posts of what we have been up to this summer.  With all of the days where the temperature has been over 100, we've been spending a lot of time indoors, but we have ventured out a few times!

We took the kids to Sea World.  Avery was so excited to see all the dolphins. (Did you know killer whales are actually dolphins?  Apparently Avery did!)

Avery planning our next stop

We had to leave the 4D Seasame Street show early.  This is not a show for little kids sitting in your lap.  The water keep spraying directly in Jake's face, and it was not just a little mist.

Daddy won Avery a Shamu by shooting baskets while Mommy got to ride a roller coaster!
