Jake

On March 14th, I woke up at 3:30am having contractions. They weren't extremely painful and weren't evenly spaced out, so we went back to sleep. I kept having the contracitons all morning, so we decided to go ahead and go to the hospital to see what was going on since these were not like the other contractions I had been having for the last 2 months. we took this picture as we were leaving the house "just in case" we ended up having a baby!

Another "just in case" picture! (12:10pm)

Connor's 5th Birthday

Happy 5th Birthday Connor!
I can't believe he is already 5!!

Avery was excited to get a turn on the rope swing!

Aunt Morgan helped Miss A on the balance beam. Avery was a little nervous, but when Kensie got a turn, she ran right down it!

Jumping on the trampoline with Mimi

They had so much fun running back and forth on the trampoline...

...and in the foam pit.

Another homemade toy: Avery is poking toothpicks through the little holes in the top of a spice shaker to build her fine motor skills. She just thinks it's fun!

She loves to build tall towers and then yell "wooooa" as they fall

Playing with magnetic pom poms I made. She likes to line them all up around the edge

Avery is constantly bringing me a baby doll that she is holding upside down by the legs and telling me that they have poopoo. Then she runs to her room to get a diaper for them. On this day she was using her shopping cart as their changing table and changing all of their diapers!

Crafting

I've been wanting to make Avery a sensory tub for a while, but I had to wait until she was old enough. This has quickly become one of her favorite toys. Right now it just has pinto beans with spoons and cups, but I plan to switch it out every now and then. She has been having so much fun transferring the beans from the tub to the cups and dumping them out again!

Since I've been at home on bed rest this past month, I've been using a lot of my time thinking about things I want to make.
First I made Jake these two burp cloths.

I painted and covered these letters with paper to hang on his wall.

I covered his light switch plate.

My mom made Jake his pillow.

I made a tie t-shirt for Connor's birthday, and a onesie for Jake.

...and this guitar onesie for Jake also.

These are two more onesies I made and put for sale in my Etsy shop.

Surprise Baby Shower

Last Sunday, Holly and Drew invited us over to their house for Taco Night. I of course just assumed that we were going to have tacos, but when I walked in the door, everyone was kind of giving me a strange look (especially Steve) and then I noticed the blue balloons, the diaper cake Holly made, and presents. They were all just waiting for me to figure it out, instead of yelling surprise when I walked in the door. (They didn't want to make me go into labor!) I'm still shocked that they would do this, and all the work Holly put into the diaper pins for us to wear, the diaper cake and all of the games. I love our group of friends!

Tim and Steve are trying to guess what candy bar is melted in the diaper.
