Our friend Drew took this picture while we were at his house playing washers the other night. (Drew is the husband of "The Amazing Holly") It's amazing to me that Avery can sleep through many washer games going on right next to her, but one little sound in our house can wake her right up! This week we took Avery down to the beach for the first time. She loved playing in the sand, and loved the water even more. When we took her down to the water, she kept walking further and further into it and squealing every time a wave hit her.

Avery LOVED this pirate. She kept turning around to look and talk to it, and she would point to it when other people came by.

Morgan and Hayden came by our room to say hi. Yes, that is a cookie in her mouth.(An innocent bribe to get her to smile. She was very sleepy, and therefore not in a smiling mood!)

On Wednesday, we went to the Texas State Aquarium. Avery really enjoyed yelling at the fish and banging on the glass!

I was so excited when I found this cobbler's bench at Ross one day. Avery loves it because she gets to bang on it with a hammer!

This is sort of a shape sorter that I made for Avery out of a yogurt container. She puts the cube in the hole on the top and then gets it out of the hole at the bottom.

Walking!!

Happy Father's Day to Tim! Avery started walking today! Last week she took a couple of steps. And this week she had just been standing up and balancing. But tonight she actually took about 5 steps!

Concan '09

This past weekend we took our annual trip to Concan. Avery had so much fun hanging out with everyone and playing in the river.








Avery would have been happy to spend the whole weekend climbing the stairs.

Hanging Out in Victoria

This past week, Avery went to Victoria to stay with my parents because I had three days of training to go to. I went down there on Thursday to pick her up, and stayed in town for a few days. While I was there, we had a lot of fun swimming in the pool, and we went to the zoo. The day that we went to the zoo, they were actually having a free zoo day with lots of booths, with free crafts for the kids. Avery got a free camo hat, a movie, a pair of giraffe print sunglasses, and made a necklace, a lion puppet, a tiara, and an elephant sun catcher.

She can also drive the car backwards.

The Amazing Holly!

Since Holly wasn't able to make it to the party, I was hoping that she had taken a picture of herself with the awesome pink princess pig pinata she made for Avery's birthday.

This was the cutest thing ever, and Avery thought it was so funny to hit the piggy with a stick! Thanks again Holly, you are amazing!

1st Birthday!

Our little angel is one! We had a great party this weekend at our house to celebrate with our wonderful family and friends.

This was actually a couple of days before her birthday. Avery found the box we keep in our room of diapers and wipes, and pulled out every diaper and would have pulled every wipe out of the box if I hadn't made her stop.
