A few weeks ago, I was playing ping pong with my mom, and Jake came running (he runs EVERYWHERE) around the corner and scraped his head on the edge of the table. We took him to an urgent care facility where he had to get 4 staples. It amazes me how tough this little guy is! He cried right when it happened, I think the shock of the impact startled him, and then again when they layed him down to put the staples in. But other than that, he acted like nothing happened. When we took him to get the staples out, he tensed up, but there were no tears. I love the tough little man!

Getting Crafty
I finally have time now that summer is here to do some of the crafty things I've been craving!!
Here is Avery's new scrap wreath
I found this recipe for homemade granola online. Delicious!
I've been looking for a spice rack at garage sales, but after months of searching, I finally broke down and just bought one at a store here in town. I had to pay much more than I wanted to, but I'm just glad I finally finished the porject!
Here is the BEFORE picture.

And AFTER!
I made this for Tim for Father's Day this year with all of our handprints.
I actually made this back in the spring. And if I would have taken a picture of it back then, you could see pretty, blooming flowers instead of these fried ones due to the 100plus degree weather we've been having!

And this isn't really crafty, but it's our Summer To-Do/Wish list!

Avery's 4th Birthday (Candy Shoppe Theme)
For Avery's 4th birthday, we had a Candy Shoppe Party! (The best part about my kid's birthdays is that they both fall right after holidays, so I buy all their candy on clearance!!)
Bean Bag Toss
Jake LOVED his cupcake and cookie!

Avery's First Dance Recital
Avery had her first dance recital and I couldn't have been more proud of her! I was worried about it, and we almost didn't even put her in the recital because she never wanted to do tap in class. She would usually just stand by the mirror or sit on the floor. But when the curtain opened, she was standing perfectly posed on the stage and did every step of the dance! They danced to "My Girl".
I tried about 15 times to upload the video of the dance, but it just won't work. I'll keep trying!
My Stroller, and The Girls!
Since we have such a sloped driveway, the kids have to play on the sidewalk. They know where they have to turn around to come back, even if the sometimes try to push it! I love seeing Avery push my old Cabbage Patch stroller. This thing has definitely seen better days, but she loves it! (and of course there's Jake, running right along with her!)
We finally got to have another Girl's Weekend! I love getting together with these girls and we can just hang out and talk like we're back in college. This year I suggested we do a Favorite Things party. I had seen the idea on Pinterest almost a year ago, and thought it would be a lot of fun. (and it was!) We each brought 5 of our favorite things to give to the other girls, and we all got to bring home 5 new items. (We are modeling the sleep masks that Amy brought!)

Avery's Photo Shoot
I know I've said it before, but, I LOVE THIS GIRL!!! And it's a great thing she loves to pose for pictures as much as I like to take pictures of her!
All of these poses were her idea, the only thing I suggested was going under the covers.
